Privately Paying (with or without Medicare rebates)
If you have a chronic health condition managed through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan by your GP, which includes a referral to a dietitian, you may qualify for Medicare rebates. With this referral, you could be entitled to up to five rebated sessions per calendar year. However, even with the rebate, you will still need to pay the gap — the difference between the cost of your dietitian consultation and the amount covered by Medicare.
Medicare update: Accredited Practising Dietitians are now eligible (from 1 July 2025) to provide services under the M10 list of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) items — “Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders and eligible disabilities.” This is the language used by Medicare; whilst The Divergent Space respects each individual’s choice in how they describe themselves, I note that the term “disorders” does not align with the language I use in practice.
These MBS items fund allied health support for people under 25 in the neurodevelopmental space (e.g., autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, Rett syndrome, Fragile X, Prader–Willi syndrome, Williams syndrome, Angelman syndrome, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and more). They also have a higher rebate than the Chronic Disease Management plan, which may make services more accessible.
Initial Appointment: $215 (AUD)

Equity Pricing
The Divergent Space is in the process of designing options for equity pricing to support individuals experiencing financial hardship, from marginalised communities, and on low incomes. If cost is a barrier, you're warmly invited to get in touch to discuss what might be possible — no need to share anything you're not comfortable with.
